This knitted eyeglass case is easy to make and comes in handy, especially if you only wear your glasses sometimes and need a safe place to keep them. You can also use it for your favorite pair of sunglasses. If you would like to use a different yarn than the one in this pattern, that’s no problem. As long as you pay attention to the lengths, you’ll be fine. If you’re using a thicker yarn, cast on fewer stitches. You may have to try a few times, but remember, your project always gets longer than the initial cast on row.

YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS KNITTED GLASSES CASE! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:
- 1 pair of size 7 needles
- 1 skein of sport weight yarn (color 1)
- 1 skein of sport weight yarn (color 2) (optional for stripes)
- 1 yarn needle
Knitted Glasses Case – Step 1
First cast on 35 stitches. Work in Stockinette stitch. Row 1: Knit entire row and Row 2: Purl entire row. Repeat until length measures approximately 7 inches.
*A note on changing colors: If you are using more than one color, make stripes at least 2 rows each. When changing colors, simply feed the yarn from the new color into first stitch of new row. Be sure to keep yarn pulled firmly, especially yarn from the color you’ve just finished using. This is easier than you might imagine, but keeping the stitches pulled firmly, but not too tightly, is the secret.
Knitted Glasses Case – Step 2
It should be rectangle shaped, about 6″x7″. Bind off.
Knitted Glasses Case – Step 3
Next cut length of yarn (in either color, your choice) measuring about 20″. Thread yarn with yarn needle. Fold rectangle in half with the outer side (pretty side) folded inward. Sew one of the short sides.
Knitted Glasses Case – Step 4
Then sew long side. Leave the third side open to slip the glasses inside. After last stitch, knot yarn securely.
Knitted Glasses Case – Step 5
Finally turn case right side out, trim any excess yarn strands. Enjoy your new knit eyeglass holder!
