WHAT BETTER WAY TO DECORATE YOUR SOFA FOR VALENTINE’S DAY THEN WITH THIS CUPID SILHOUETTE PILLOW! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:
- white fabric
- red fabric
- craft stuffing or fiberfill
- heatbond
- basic sewing supplies
Cupid Silhouette Pillow – Step 1
First follow the directions on the heatbond or “wonder-under”, or follow our basic directions here. Press a piece of heatbond (the shinny side down) onto the wrong side of a piece of red fabric. Do not keep the iron on the heatbond for more than a few seconds, just long enough to make the heatbond stick.
Cupid Silhouette Pillow – Step 2
Next pin and cut out the letters and cupid. This is a little time consuming and you need a steady hand.
Cupid Silhouette Pillow – Step 3
Then peel off the back of the heatbond from cupid and the letters. Place cupid and the letters onto the pretty side of one of the pillow pieces and iron on. Once again, do not keep the iron on the fabric for a long time, it could melt the heatbond. Also, do not move the iron back and forth. Place the iron down and hold for a few seconds, then pick up the iron and move it to another section, do not slide the iron.
Cupid Silhouette Pillow – Step 4
Now pin the pillow pieces right sides (or pretty sides) together. Leave about a 3.5″ opening on the side. Sew straight stitch around the heart using the pressure foot as your guide. Remember; do not sew at the opening.
Cupid Silhouette Pillow – Step 5
Trim seams if need be and turn the pillow pretty side out. After that stuff the pillow with fiberfill. Finally hand stitch the opening close.
Your cute little pillow is now finished and you can add your cupid’s silhouette pillow to your Valentine’s day decorations!
