ADD SOME MORE SWEETNESS TO YOUR VALENTINE DECOR WITH THESE FELT CANDY HEARTS! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE OURS:
- scraps of felt in Valentine colors
- fabric paint
- basic sewing and crafting supplies
Felt Candy Hearts – Step 1
First make yourself a heart pattern about 7″ from computer paper. From that pattern make another one but smaller. Now you should have two size heart patterns.
Felt Candy Hearts – Step 2
Next pin and cut out some hearts to sew up. Remember you will need two (front and back) for each heart. I used pinking shears which give the edges of the felt a nice decorative finish, but you do not have to, regular scissors will work fine also.
Felt Candy Hearts – Step 3
If you want to have one small heart sewn onto a larger one stitch it in the center of ONE of your heart pieces.
Felt Candy Hearts – Step 4
Now pin hearts together and begin sewing using the pressure foot as your guide. When you have about 4″ left, stop sewing, keep your needle in the heart and very gently stuff your heart. You DO NOT need a lot of stuffing in your heart. Remember felt is a pressed fabric, so it can stretch out of place easily. Only put a little bit of stuffing in.
Felt Candy Hearts – Step 5
Then stitch the opening closed.
Felt Candy Hearts – Step 6
Finally paint Valentine love notes and sayings on your hearts!
Your felt candy hearts are now ready to be displayed and spread the love this Valentine’s Day!
