Fabric Dog Bone – Step 1
Start by cutting out your dog bone pattern. You can make your own or feel free to use our free dog bone pattern.
Fabric Dog Bone – Step 2
Next fold your fabric in half so that you will have two dog bone pieces, one for the back and one for the front. Pin your dog bone pattern on your fabric and cut it out.
Fabric Dog Bone – Step 3
Place the pretty sides of your dog bone together. Pin around the outer edges leaving an opening at the bottom as shown.
Fabric Dog Bone – Step 4
Then stitch around the dog bone using the pressure foot as your guide or a 1/4″ seam allowance. Notice the opening at the bottom for turning and stuffing.
Fabric Dog Bone – Step 5
Turn the toy dog bone pretty side out and stuff with fiberfill. Make it nice and firm so your dog can get a hold of it to play with it. Finally hand stitch the opening closed. Use close tight stitches and double knot the beginning and the end since your dog will be throwing this around, you want it to stay intact.
Your toy dog bone is finished. Send us a photo of your dog and his new toy. We’d love to see your work.
