How to Turn an Ordinary Umbrella into a Steampunk One

I absolutely love steampunk fashion and this umbrella is no different. Taking a basic boring umbrella I transformed it into a high fashion grungy steampunk one!

USE A PIZZA BOX TO TRANSFORM YOUR BASIC UMBRELLA INTO A STEAMPUNK ONE! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

• umbrella
• pizza box
• ribbon
• scraps of fabric
• brown paint

Steampunk Umbrella – Step 1

The first thing I did was take off any unwanted accessories on my previous umbrella. My original umbrella had lace on the top and I decided to keep that on.

Next you are going to use fabric scraps to make triangle on all the panels of your umbrella. After that you are going to outline them with ribbon.

Then using a pizza box I cut out gears and nails to add onto my umbrella. I painted them a dark brown before putting them on my umbrella.

Finally, I used scraps of fabric and ribbon to make a corset looking panel on my umbrella. Feel free to add or change anything on your umbrella.

You are finished and now have a steampunk umbrella!
