You can create a fabric art Valentine project. It is also known as quilt art. It’s just like coloring in a coloring book, but you sew the shapes and colors on the fabric! This quilt art is the perfect way to tell everyone how much you love them. Or it can just look cute hanging on your wall this Valentine’s Day.

- valentine fabrics
- red extra wide double fold bias tape
- quilt batting
- heatn’bond (optional)
- basic sewing supplies
Valentine’s Day LOVE Quilt – Step 1
Start by cutting 2 pieces of white fabric the size you want the quilt art to be. Cut 1 quilt batting the same size as the white fabric.
Valentine’s Day LOVE Quilt – Step 2
You are welcome to use what we have here, but with fabric art there are no rules… you can design whatever you want. So you can sketch and create your own Valentine quilt art if you want to.
Valentine’s Day LOVE Quilt – Step 3
This next step is an optional step so you can skip it if you want. If you prefer use heatnbond by following the manufactures instructions. (We love to use it!)Cut out your design and art work with red fabric.Sandwich the quilt batting inside the white fabrics with the pretty sides out.Arrange on one pretty side of white fabric your art work. Pin in place through all the layers. If you are using the heatnbond, now is the time to iron on your cut out pieces.
Valentine’s Day LOVE Quilt – Step 4
If you are not using heatnbond, after pinning the art work in place begin the next step here. Using a very close zigzag stitch, appliqué the art work onto the fabric going through all the layers.
Valentine’s Day LOVE Quilt – Step 5
Next, cut the extra wide double fold bias tape to fit the top and bottom of the quilt art. Sandwich the quilt inside the bias tape, pin, and stitch.
Valentine’s Day LOVE Quilt – Step 6
Last cut bias tape to fit the sides. Stitch in place.
Your Valentine Quilt Art is now done and ready to be displayed!
