Victorian Valentine Rose Heart Pillow

These pretty Victorian Valentine Rose Heart Pillows will look nice with just about any decor including shabby chic, country, modern, and Victorian.

YOU WILL LOVE THIS HEART PILLOW WHICH ADDS SOME VICTORIAN CHARM TO YOUR VALENTINE’S DAY DECORATIONS! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE OURS:

Victorian Valentine’s Day fabric
Red and green felt
craft stuffing or fiberfill
ribbon (if you want to hang it up)
basic sewing supplies

Victorian Valentine Rose Heart Pillow – Step 1

First pin and cut out two heart pieces for each heart pillow you want to make. Pin the heart pieces right sides (or pretty sides) together. Leave about a 3.5″ opening on the side. Sew straight stitch around the heart using the pressure foot as your guide. Remember; do not sew at the opening. Trim seams if need be.

Then turn heart pretty side out. Stuff the heart with craft fiberfill. Hand stitch the opening closed.

Now make a bow from natural raffia or jute rope and hand sew onto the top of the heart.

Next cut out three leaves from green felt and hand sew on top of the raffia.

Last, let’s make the felt rose. Cut a strip 12″ x 1″ of red felt. Begin rolling the felt.

Every time you get to a side of the roll twist the felt forming a rose like petal as shown in the photo. The twist is right where the finger is in the photo. Continue folding and twisting make a felt rose.

Victorian Valentine Rose Heart Pillow – Step 7

Finally hand sew the rose on top of the green felt leaves.

Make several of these Victorian hearts and place them in a basket, or string them side by side as a beautiful Valentine garland to go across your fireplace mantel. You could also add a ribbon to the back and hang them in a window. Either way they make a beautiful Valentine’s day decoration for your home.
